Rehabilitation for people with sight loss
Our qualified and experienced rehabilitation team are here to advise you on all aspects of sight loss. They will carry out a specialist assessment of your individual needs in your home and in your community, and work with you in developing a rehabilitation programme aiming to address these needs.
- Give advice and information about your eye condition and provide emotional support on how to deal with the isolation this may cause
- Teach you to manage everyday tasks in the home safely and confidently
- Carry out a low vision assessment to ensure that you make the most of your functional vision
- Supply useful equipment to assist you with daily living and demonstrate how to use it
- Provide a programme of mobility and orientation training at home or in your community that promotes independence, community access and inclusion
- Arrange minor works of adaption, such as lighting, as identified in your assessment
- Provide advice and information on our own service as well as other resources in Suffolk
- Assist in training, strategies and learning new skills to enable to stay safe, confident, and independent in your daily lives
